The opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Head of Student Lifecycle to join our busy team. The Head of Student Lifecycle is a brand new strategic role and has been created to lead, develop and implement new strategies, as well continually improve existing procedures and processes, to support the future direction of our registry services, ensuring we remain proactive and responsive to the changing needs of our students, staff and other key stakeholders.
You will be responsible for the professional and efficient delivery of a range of corporate and student centric services, promoting a positive image to stakeholders and all users of the services.
Working closely with the Director of Registry you will lead and develop the management team, enabling the department to fulfill its strategic objectives and you will help develop and embed a culture of continuous improvement.
You will be an enthusiastic and friendly professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with a commitment to providing an excellent student experience.
What you’ll do – key duties
You will be responsible for the key functions that make up the student registry lifecycle including assessment and awards, student cases and regulations, complaints and student conduct, programme administration, exam boards and timetabling.
Key duties include:
Provide strategic leadership and direction in developing the function as agreed in the organisational design strategy* for the Registry Services.
Take full responsibility for the professional and efficient delivery of a range of corporate and student centric services in line with Cardiff Met’s policies and procedures, promoting a positive image to stakeholders and all users of the services.
Be a source of expertise, represent and contribute to the University’s committee structure, chairing meetings or being an active member, as appropriate.
Manage all services to deliver an appropriate and responsive customer service, maintaining consistent standards. Develop a culture of continuous improvement.
Initiate, design and justify changes to business processes and university systems in light of business needs.
What you’ll bring – essential experience & strengths
You will bring a wide breadth of solid experience and be a source of expertise
You will have an expert understanding of all aspects of the student lifecycle and will have sound experience of strategic planning and will have experience of leading a team through organisational change
You will have an understanding of the principles of income and expenditure, capital investment and funding requirements, knowledge and understanding of risk management, disaster recovery and business continuity planning

Educated to postgraduate degree level or equivalent qualification
