As a key member of the Global Outreach and Operations Team, you will provide a range of operational support to the Global Engagement Directorate in particular, administering Global Engagement systems, policies and procedures in relation to finance and operations.

Using your established administrative experience, and your professional expertise, you will work in partnership with other Professional Services, and international partners and stakeholders to support the financial operation of the Global Engagement Directorate. You must possess excellent organisational and numeracy skills, together with initiative to ensure that the most efficient and effective processes are in place across Global Engagement financial and operational functions.

You will be an enthusiastic and friendly professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with a commitment to providing an excellent student experience.

What you’ll do – key duties

• Day-to-day coordination of Global Engagement expenditure, including corporate credit cards, University Business World finance system, staff expenses, mileage and overtime claims; always ensuring compliance with Cardiff Met’s financial policies and procedures.
• Monitoring and tracking the expenditure of the Global Engagement budgets (including TNE).  Forecasting and making recommendations on appropriate spending of budgets in excess of £400,000 per annum;
• Collating, reviewing and processing claims for agent commission, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, and University financial regulations. Fostering key relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective processing.
• Collating, reviewing and processing international student tuition fee refunds, acting as the first point of contact with agreed key external stakeholders such as sponsors, Ministries of Education, British Council and Government Agencies.
• Preparation and maintenance of work sheets, manipulation of databases and production of statistics as required by Global Engagement processes; using a range of media to routinely communicate complex financial data in an appropriate way to internal and external partners.
• Use initiative and forward thinking to monitor and contribute to the Global Engagement financial and operational procedures in order to ensure an efficient running of all the Global Engagement operational functions;
• In conjunction with the Senior International Finance Officer, develop and deliver training programmes for all Global Engagement staff regarding the financial procedures and regulations to ensure compliance with the University’s financial regulations. Providing support, guidance and advice for all members of the Global Engagement team;

• Experience of working with overseas ministries, sponsors, governments and companies.
• Experience in communication and answering queries from International partners 
• Working experience and knowledge of managing and tracking multiple budgets
• Excellent attention to detail and numerical skills
• Ability to prioritise and organise administrative tasks
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills

• Educated to Bachelor Degree level or equivalent relevant work experience
