The opportunity
As a key post that will contribute to the ambitions of the University’s Strategic Plan 2017/18 – 2022/23, the Project Director will provide strategic direction and programme/academic leadership for the Help to Grow Management (HTGM) programme.
Through this programme business leaders throughout Wales will develop their leadership and management skills, will acquire tools to implement change within their business and to adopt new and improved business practices. The goal is for the business to experience productivity growth and become more resilient and sustainable in the long term, having a positive impact and contributing to inclusive economic growth throughout Wales.
The Project Director will take overall responsibility for the function and delivery of the programme, collaborating with key stakeholders, embedding the programme within the University and maximising opportunities for enhancing programme delegate benefits. The post holder will undertake an ambassadorial role for the programme and will line manage the programme delivery and administration teams.
What you’ll do – key duties
Establishing and building the programme team and conducting all programme startup activities; establishing the delivery calendar
In collaboration with CABS and delivery partners, ensuring that SMEs are sourced and assessed, as part of the marketing, recruitment and selection process, advising staff and participants on funding criteria and provide guidance on eligibility criteria for HTGM
Ensuring that data is captured, utilised and monitored to manage progress towards achieving and exceeding the objectives and policies
Ensuring the effective delivery of the HTGM programme, working in collaboration with others within the university and other delivery partners
Maintaining overall financial and policy control of the programme including responsibility for timely reporting and claims submission, monitoring and evaluation, meeting programme standards and contractual compliance
What you’ll bring – essential experience & strengths
Masters level degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
Knowledge of online project recording and monitoring systems
Excellent communication and presentation skills within organisations, academic and government contexts
Management of funded programmes, including marketing
Excellent organisational skills and ability to make extensive use of own initiative and discretion
Ability to manage complex audit processes and to ensure that all project processes are compliant
Experience of leading and managing projects and programmes that engage senior practitioners and organisations.
