Job Summary
The post holder will work as part of a team to provide consistent support across the University’s Circular Economy Innovation Communities (CEIC) project on a day-to-day basis within the Cardiff School of Management. The post holder will support projects by contributing to the creation, consistent implementation, and monitoring of administrative systems that conform to Cardiff Met and project funders’ requirements.
The Administrative and Finance Officer will be responsible for supporting the delivery, assessment, verification and quality functions of the team. The role will ensure all administrative activities relating to preparing for training days, data collection, assessment and verification on the project are delivered in a timely and professional manner. The role will also involve compiling and maintaining records to comply with the University and EU requirements.
The post holder will be proactive, able to work both independently and as part of a team, have strong organisational and administrative skills, be able to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail, and have a proven track record within an administrative role on a European funded project(s).
Essential Criteria
Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
Analysis and reporting of detailed financial data
Expert knowledge of MS Office.
Experience of using complex Excel spreadsheets with the use of multiple formulas and formatting.
Ability to prioritise and organise administrative operations.
Ability to develop administrative procedures, policies and practice.
Ability to understand and consistently apply rules and regulations.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to assimilate knowledge quickly.
Ability to work autonomously / independently and as part of a team.
Experience of working as part of a team.
Experience of working in a financial, accounting or detailed administrative role.
Experience of administering work projects in preparation for stringent external audit.
Demonstrable experience of working to and achieving targets.
Willing and able to travel to attend meetings, project reviews and workshops across Wales.
Willing to work weekends and unsociable hours when required.
