The opportunity
Cardiff Met is investing in a new dedicated IT Security Team in order to create a significant improvement in our capacity to handle security threats and giving the organisation the tools and advice it needs to minimise the potential risk around IT Security. The new team and new resources will plug into a culture that will welcome the ability to make a significant impact to prepare for and react to IT Security attacks.
This key role will offer you the opportunity to be responsible for the management of our IT Security Team, in addition to supporting and developing the IT security technologies.
Particularly, you will provide advice, guidance and assurance to the University on matters of IT and cyber security, ensuring appropriate technologies and procedures are in place to secure Cardiff Met’s services and data.
You will lead specific developments in line with business requirements and infrastructure roadmaps that require a high degree of co-ordination, technical involvement and expertise. In this position you will be the primary contact for the latest and most relevant information relating to IT and cyber security operations and strategy for the University.
