The opportunity
Cardiff School of Technologies is based on the Llandaff Campus and was launched in 2018. This new School, which focuses on computer and data science, cyber security, robotics and electronic engineering, already has around 900 students and has developed a thriving research community. Programmes and modules are developed with stakeholders from industry, current research and students, ensuring a rounded curriculum. As the school continues to grow it will build on existing partnerships with industry and add to its existing offering of degree apprenticeships. Working as part of the School Professional Services Team, the post holder will co-ordinate and manage the full range of support activities for the Dean of School and the Senior Management and Planning Team.
You will provide academic and mentoring support to students on programmes delivered at the Cardiff School of Technologies. The Student Coach will support and coach other students on their programme through peer support.
What you’ll do – key duties
Support fellow students on a one-to-one and/or group basis.
Informally assess the student learning needs through discussion and provide feedback to students and the Module and Programme Leader.
Work with students in addressing academic queries on summative exercises and project work.
Communicate with empathy and encourage students to reach their full potential.
Provide constructive feedback to learners in order to challenge perceptions.
Act as a responsible team member and develop productive working relationships with other members of staff / coaches.
Collaborate with members of staff to identify and respond to learners needs.
Feedback to the Module and Programme Leader with evaluation.

What you’ll have - essential qualifications
Currently studying at a minimum Level 3 qualification within Cardiff School of Technologies
5 GCSE’s at Grade C or above (or equivalent)
