The opportunity
Cardiff School of Education and Social Policy (CSESP), located on both the Cyncoed and Llandaff Campuses, offers a diverse and stimulating range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in education, policing, media and journalism, English and creative writing, social work and social policy. The School is home to the Cardiff Partnership for Initial Teacher Education, one of the largest centres of teacher education and training in the UK and building on over 60 years’ experience and an enviable reputation for the quality of teacher training provision. The School has made significant progress in the development of a strong and sustainable research environment in recent years. This has been achieved through a systematic increase in our research capacity, volume, quality and impact facilitated by improving the research infrastructure, investing in and developing research with impact, and supporting an open-access, integrity-based and collaborative research culture.
You will support the administration and the research within Project DARPL (diversity and anti-racist professional learning). The post holder will support the aims, administration and research within the project in a variety of ways. These will principally include administration support, liaison with the Project Director and team, partners, participants, translators, event planning and delivery support, data collection and analysis.
DARPL work centres on professional learning for those working in educational settings to develop delegates’ understanding of anti-racism, which should lead to a development of anti-racist practice. The professional learning has been developed to take into consideration the different roles of those working in educational settings and is tailored to support that.
